Here are a few of our
top tips for getting the most out of your day at Disneyland Resort Paris. As
regular visitors we have found these tips to be very useful.
An easy 2
hour drive from the Chateau -
1) Pre Purchase Your
Tickets. To avoid the queues and save money you can pre-purchase your
Disney tickets on our website using the links, but you need to do this at least
three days before your holiday begins. You are welcome to have your tickets
delivered to the Manoir. http://www.champagne-gites.com/whattodo/disney.php
2) When to Go? Tuesday's and Thursday's tend to be the quieter
days. There is no school in France on Wednesday's so this is a very popular day
for French children to visit and it gets very busy, also try and avoid
week-ends if you can.
3) Which Park? There are two parks to
visit, Disneyland Park and Park Walt Disney Studios but you won't usually get
time to do both in one day. If this is your first visit and you only have one
day, you will probably just want to visit the Disneyland Park and save the
studios for another time.
4) Which Ticket? To visit just
Disneyland Park you should buy a Park Ticket (Le Billet 1 Parc). To visit both
Disneyland Park and Studios you should buy a Ticket Passe-Partout (Le Billet
Passe-Partout). You will need one ticket for each adult and each child in your
party.
5) Get There Early! Both Parks open at 10am from
September to February and 9am from March to August. Plan to arrive 30 to 60
minutes before opening times as you will be allowed into the Parks before the
attractions are open.
6) Young Children may wish to go into
Fantasyland first to do some of the popular rides before the queues start. Top
Tip! Take plenty of bottled water, bottles can be refilled at water fountains
around the park.
7) FastPass, you can obtain fast pass tickets
for the popular rides by going to the FastPass machines out side these rides -
put your daily ticket into the machine and you'll get your ticket back plus a
fast pass with a 30 minute time slot later on in the day. You return to the
ride during your allotted time slot and go straight to the front of the queue.
You can only FastPass one ride at a time. We recommend you FastPass Thunder
Mountain first as it is one of the most popular rides.
8) Baby
Switch - Parents who want to ride an attraction that is not suitable for
their younger children can use this service to avoid having to queue a second
time. Ask a Disney "Cast Member" at the entrance of the ride for a "Baby Switch
Ticket". When you get to the front of the queue one of you can go on the ride
while the other stays behind with the child and then you swap.
9)
Have an Early Lunch. Restaurants open at about 11.30 and as the French
tradition is to eat at 12.00 its sometimes a good idea to eat early which will
enable you to gain access to rides while everyone else is enjoying lunch. We
like the Cowboy Cookout Barbecue in Frontierland, a good live country music
band often play to while you eat.
10) Disneyland Railroad. When
your feet get tired, take a rest on the Disneyland Railroad. The steam train
will take you on a complete tour of the Park stopping at each 'land' on route.
Top Tip !! don't catch the train at Main Street, it is always the busiest
station, get on at Frontierland where the queue will be shorter.
11)
Don't Miss the Disney Parade! the Parade is always worth seeing. It starts
in Fantasyland and finishes at the lower part of Main Street so if you miss the
beginning you can always catch up with it further along the route.
